THE ADAM BUXTON PODCAST

ADAM BUXTON

285 episodes

British comedian Adam Buxton talks with interesting people. The rambly conversations are sometimes funny, sometimes more serious with funny bits. Adam makes the jingles and records the intros and outros for most episodes while walking with his dog friend Rosie in the East Anglian countryside where he lives with his wife and three children. Adam has appeared in films such as Hot Fuzz, Stardust and Son Of Rambow as well as a variety of TV shows in the UK. Since 2007 he has hosted BUG, a live show that combines music videos and comedy that became a TV series on Sky Atlantic in 2012. From time to time he also does live shows featuring just his own material. Along with lifelong friend Joe Cornish, he also is one half of the award-winning TV, radio and podcast duo Adam and Joe. You can find many of the jingles Adam makes for the podcast as well as bonus material and a selection of Adam's YouTube videos on his website: adam-buxton.co.uk Yes, Adam is writing this himself using the third person. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy (https://acast.com/privacy) for more information.

What listeners will find here

Kristen Schaal on dragon doctors, dinner-time wars and the strain on TV
Kristen Schaal joins Adam Buxton for a wide-ranging chat that jumps from Joan Proctor the Dragon Doctor to screen-kiss etiquette and family arguments about when it’s acceptable to eat. It also makes room for a more serious thread on the crisis in TV production in the UK and the US.
Dylan Moran on pain, tech anxiety, aging, and a gloriously scrappy guitar moment
Dylan Moran joins Adam Buxton for a face-to-face chat about chronic pain, masculinity in advanced middle age, music, gummies, and why modern tech culture can make life feel falsely urgent. It sounds loose, funny, and sharply skeptical, with a live song thrown in.
Meera Syal on memoir, colonial legacy, comedy history and a surprise Death Cafe
Meera Syal joins Adam Buxton for a wide-ranging conversation about memoir writing, growing up as the only brown family in a 1960s Midlands village, and the complicated legacy of the British Empire. It also gets into Goodness Gracious Me, Apu, and an unexpected visit to a Death Cafe.
A loose, listener-driven Q&A with jingles, gifts, music and Adam’s guest-picking process
Based on the show notes, this face-to-face Q&A episode has Adam Buxton answering listener questions on guest selection, a possible Elon Musk interview, jingles, kids’ music, gifts and his hugs. It looks like a lighter, chatty installment with plenty of podcat-curiosity fuel.
Sara Cox joins Adam for farm mishaps, teen-parenting talk, and Girlie Show cringe
This preview is based on the episode notes, which suggest a wide-ranging chat between Adam Buxton and Sara Cox. Expect stories from her childhood, reflections on TV and broadcasting, and discussion of parenting teenagers in the digital age.
