Roy and HG - Bludging on the Blindside

The NRL Grand Final entertainment spectacle, a startling $435,000 worth of dog food, and Peter V’Landys’ larger-than-life status drive this end-of-season episode. It sounds like a loose, satirical sweep through sport, money and national obsessions before the hosts say goodbye for the year.

This episode zeroes in on AFL Grand Final entertainment, the strange role of Rugby League ambassadors, and whether the ABC should be in the greyhound track business. Expect Roy & HG to treat big sporting side-shows and stranger national obsessions as the real main event.

Privatisation in sport, the idea of buying the Sheffield Shield with cheese money, and whether Canberra’s Floriade counts as iconic drive this week’s episode. Roy & HG take on a grab bag of national obsessions with their usual irreverent angle.

LIV Golf, Jerome Luai, and Artie Beetson’s run-in with a Japanese shower drive this week’s episode. Roy & HG bounce between money worries, rugby league absurdity, and a classic oversized anecdote with their usual eye for the nation’s "pressing concerns."

Rugby League’s future takes center stage as Roy & HG dig into where the game might be headed. Along the way, they also touch on Nick Kyrgios turning back the clock and a blackout at the Coach Adam Reynolds tribute.
